How can I get a UK resident permit?

There are various types, commonly if you wish to settled in the UK with indefinite leave to remain or become British one day. You can apply for a Spouse visa (after 5 years) which leads to settlement or apply for a Tier 2 Skilled Worker visa, again after 5 years. Once you have acquired ILR you will need to meet the requirements to qualify for British citizenship. There are also other visa types routes available that lead to settlement.

  The wording does not necessary refer that a visa has been granted or refused. Yes in most cases if an application is refused, it will be sent by email. However, there are also some instances when an application is refused when an applicant collects their passports and it has not been stamped and the decision letter follows at a later date.
