There are various types, commonly if you wish to settled in the UK with indefinite leave to remain or become British one day. You can apply for a Spouse visa (after 5 years) which leads to settlement or apply for a Tier 2 Skilled Worker visa, again after 5 years. Your UK visa application is ready for collection. Does it mean a refusal or granted?

  The wording does not necessary refer that a visa has been granted or refused. Yes in most cases if an application is refused, it will be sent by email. However, there are also some instances when an application is refused when an applicant collects their passports and it has not been stamped and the decision letter follows at a later date. Can I apply for a partner visa without marriage?

If you intend not to get married or feel it is just not the right time, you can apply to come to the UK from overseas on a unmarried partner visa or can apply from inside the UK. However, it is important to demonstrate you intend to live together and have lived together for at least 2 years akin to marriage. You will also be required to provide solid evidence of your cohabitation and your relationship is subsisting.
